The November meeting of the Georgia Magic Club was held in our new location and began with a Pre-Meeting Mini Lecture (PMML) by Rick Silverstein on a very interesting memory system.  We had several guests and several nominees for membership.  Also nominated were officers for the 2004 term.

Our theme for November was Backward Magic and as always the them was open to interpretation!  Howie Marmer and his son Daniel did a card prediction in reverse, David Oglesby restored a newspaper that was not torn, and Paul Sponaugle followed that with a reversed card trick, with guest Chris' help.  Jim Magus cooked an old family recipe, Vodka Eggs, and Lynn Fox continued his streak of turkey related magic in November with a feather to egg routine.

In the General Magic category, Christophe Fouquet transformed double sided cards with the help of Patrick FloydHowie Marmer performed the infamous card on the forehead and had some balloon fun with guest Cassidy's assistance, and Joe M. Turner did an amazing routine with three chosen cards and four volunteers.

Votes were counted and congratulations were deservedly given to Jim Magus, the winner of the Theme magic competition for November.

In December, our PMML was Atlanta's Funniest Magic Moments.  Tommy Johns, Joe M. Turner, Gene Morrison, Rick Silverstein, J.C. Doty, Matt Baker, Andy Pascual, Rolando Santos, Bobby Campbell, and Fred Kirkland told some very funny stories about things that happened during shows or strolling magic.  After a brief business meeting, in which it was announced that membership in the GMC was approaching 100, we auctioned off a couple of items from the estate of the late Hal Martin (for whom our club is named).

We had three performances for membership.  Cesar Vega's card manipulations and rubber band magic, Matt Barker's card revelation and very cool Matrix routine, and Rob Kaspawich's comedy mind reading were very well received.  December's theme was Musical Magic, and as usual, the magic was top notch.  Joe M. Turner performed a very clever prediction of a chosen musical CD.  Assisting Joe were Debbie Liefer, Lynn Fox, Rick Silver and Patrick Floyd.  After Mark Hatfield's beautiful 3 ring routine set to music, Tommy Johns and the GMC Kazoo Band (Joe, Rick, Mary Doty, and Howie Marmer) performed a very funny holiday music prediction.  Justin McIntyre, did a very nice routine with a floating sphere, and Andy Pascual, assisted by Rick (Rick didn't sing) sang his way through a deck of Encore cards.

General magic included Christophe with cards, Mark Hatfield's Ninja Rings to an original poem, and a rare card routine by Tommy Johns.  Mark Hatfield won the Coveted Royal Blue Pen for December's Theme magic.

If you are ever in Atlanta, let us know.  There's always something MAGICAL happening in the Capital of the Southeast!
