Dan Garrett presented a mini-lecture featuring two rope routines and Jason David's son, Andrew, who was ALMOST ten years old but not quite yet there.
Scott Moore performed for membership this month. He brought up Bill Packard, Andrew David and Greg Lax to help in a intriguing spongeball routine.
The theme for performances was "Old School". Arthur Atsma began the evening with a very funny multiplying bottle routine that kept everyone in stitches. It was a very tough act to follow, but Greg Lax took the stage with some ropes and funny props, doing a rope routine that ended with a 20th Century silk routine.
Kevin McDaid pulled a ball from a silk, and then made it jump magically from place to place and change color several times before disappearing again. Bill Packard did a gorgeous linking ring routine which had everyone spellbound as he performed.
Wes Petty had a wonderful story to go with a coin through bottle routine. He followed up with a nice Wild Card routine and then a cups and balls routine.
Keith Rainey tossed a deck of cards to Arthur Atsma, and got a random number from Howie Marmer. Greg Lax stopped his finger from moving over a random card, which was the Jack of Diamonds. Arthur looked in his deck - and the card at Howie's number was the Jack of Diamonds!
Cesar Vega took the stage dressed in a cane, hat, and tuxedo t-shirt, and did a dancing cane routine. Ben Whiting followed with Slydini's paper napkins to a box routine which was performed beautifully.
Kevin McDaid did an ace-cutting routine followed by some shuffling routines. Keith Rainey who had Greg Lax select a card from one deck. He threw the deck down and had one card left, which was the selected card.
The winner of the Coveted Royal Blue Pin was Wes Petty!
