No. 9, Atlanta, Georgia – Georgia Magic Club
March 2006

Darryl Felker had a card selected from a deck. He took a "magic rubber band" and wrapped it around the deck. He tossed it against his hand, and the deck visually turned from a red backed deck to a blue backed deck -except for the chosen card!
Jason Shapiro started with some pretty nice coin manipulations, with coins repeatedly disappearing and reappearing in his pocket.
Earl South said he wanted to do his favorite trick, a solid through a solid. He had a ring and string examined, threaded the string through the ring, and promptly popped the ring right through the string. He did this again, then had a spectator hold the string while he pulled the ring off again - and then made it appear right back on his finger!
Tonight our theme was magic from magazines.
Greg Lax had four plastic eggs of different colors. David Oglesby named the yellow one. Greg showed that each egg was in a empty slot - except the yellow one, which had its slot labeled with an X!
Joe Turner pulled out four jacks, claiming that it wasn't the burglar trick. Earl picked three cards from the deck, and set them face down in a pile. The jacks changed one by one into the cards in the pile, and the pile on the table became the jacks!
Scott just touched the back of a card. Joe took that card and ripped it up. He put the cards into Scott's hand, and when Scott unfolded the card it was restored, but inside out. Weird.
Lynn Fox had Tim Wolfe pick a card which he set aside. He marked another card which he clipped to his shirt. Tim picked a third card, which was a 6. A fourth card was also a six. So they turned to page 66 of the magazine. That page had an advertisement which featured a card - a three of hearts signed with Lynn's name (the pro-Viper ad!) which matched the card clipped to Lynn's shirt!
Debbie Leifer brought a paper bag. She drew a cat on the bag in honor of Gordon, and then ripped the bag into rings while making some really bad jokes. She mushed all the rings together, and the bag reformed itself into one piece, and the picture of the cat turned into a bottle of Catsup, complete with catsup packets!
Arthur Atsma then delighted us with a card trick where our President Andy chose a card, and through a very elaborate process of elimination, Arthur located the chosen card when it magically rose out of his flaming wallet.
And the winner of the Coveted Royal Blue Pin for March 2006 was Debbie Leifer!
