For the third month in a row we marveled at the impressive nature of our president DALE ADAMSON who conducted another well-planned business meeting. We discussed important Ring 9 business, which featured an update on the 2008 SEAM convention we are hosting in Atlanta. Dale announced progress on the hotel and evening show venue, and revealed the new exciting convention logo designed by DAVID OGLESBY. Dale introduced DEBBIE LEIFER, the new editor of the Equinox Magic News, who revealed the long-awaited first full-color issue. The members seemed to really enjoy the new, colorful, multi-page format, and the contributions by TOMMY JOHNS and MARK HATFIELD.

We began the evening's magic with a performance for membership by the very charming CHARLES ACHISON. He punched a hole in a freely chosen card, and when a tag was pushed into the deck, it magically "tagged" the chosen card. Charles also performed an impressive bill transformation in which a handful of single dollar bills instantly transformed into twenties. Of course he was voted in as our newest member.

Our theme for MARCH was "It's Not The Size Of The Wand", a new monthly theme featuring magic with wands and sticks. JOE MORRISON used a giant wand to locate a freely chosen card first in a bucket, then on the table, then surprisingly, the audience assistant seemed shocked to find his chosen card in his own pocket! CAREY HUDDLESTUN produced a huge amount of coins from his body, the coins suddenly vanished, and then re-appeared from his magic wand. Impressive routine. DEBBIE LEIFER used the largest wand of the evening to magically change the color of another wand from the customary black, to blue, then yellow, and finally transformed it into a multi-colored wand.

For General Magic, GENE HENDRIX demonstrated some very impressive coin sleight-of-hand featuring multiple coins appearing and vanishing. PAUL SPONAUGLE demonstrated a very amusing money mystery while he described how his bank "cheated" him out of money when a $30 withdrawal clearly netted Paul only $29, then when recounted he clearly had only $25, then he surprisingly profited with a total of $35. Great routine! Paul again demonstrated his talent for choosing extremely entertaining routines when he asked an audience member to choose a red backed card from a deck, when the deck was spread we saw cards with blue backs, upside down cards, cards with X's, and finally one card that revealed itself to be the chosen card. JOE MORRISON fooled us all with a 3 Frog Monte, as Vice President ROB SPEER tried to follow as Joe mixed up the frogs, and couldn't seem to win even when he remembered that the one on the end always squeaks.

CAREY HUDDLESTUN won the Coveted Royal Blue Pen Award for March! If you are in Atlanta on the third Monday of any month, we encourage you to join us for a fun evening of magic and to meet some new friends!
