Our May magic theme was the very versatile concept of Equivoque. We enjoyed a Twisting the Aces performance by Keith Rainey that concluded with a color change. Kevin McDaid shared a variation on Brainwave deck. The always mysterious Jim Magus presented a three-way prediction with shrunken heads that represented "see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil".
Dan Garrett had cards mentally chosen by multiple spectators, they ultimately eliminated the cards down to a single one which matched a card previously placed in an envelope contained in his wallet.
We enjoyed a three-way prediction with wooden coins presented by Mike Ellis, followed by Patrick Farrell's correct prediction of one in five objects followed by the accurate prediction of one in three coins.
Merritt Ambrose entertained us with a chosen card vanishing from the deck, appearing under a cup, and finally in a lemon, complete with torn corner receipt matching. Darryl Berman had the charming Mary Doty choose a card with a message on the back, out of all the "This Card" options, she ended up with the only card that said "That One".
For General Magic, Arthur Atsma demonstrated card flourishes, followed by a fun version of Card to Pocket and ultimately Deck to Pocket. Christophe Fouquet shared his version of a Three Way Sandwich with the assistance of president Evan Reynolds. Merritt Ambrose amazed with the transposition of a signed torn card with an unmarked card.
Winner of the Coveted Royal Blue Pen award for May was Dan Garrett.
