Our November meeting began with a Mini Lecture by Joe M. Turner. He taught four very usable techniques that were appreciated by the attendees. The most valuable segment was a vanished signed card to pocket or wallet from a small packet of cards. Joe also shared a clever substitute for the muscle pass, a Bobo hand transfer coin vanish, and an impossible card location using a floating key card.

During our business meeting announcements included our 2011 officers and board of directors, as well as the Ring 9 nominees for Magician of the Year.

Perspective member Terry Berg performed for membership demonstrating how to cut a rabbit from folded paper, and a complicated "mindreading" routine involving a pre-recorded prediction that surprisingly had a farcical conclusion.

November's Magic Theme was "Turkey Magic". Dan Garrett entertained us with Gene Anderson's fabulous Picto Transpo. Debbie Leifer performed a vision test on Ken Scott who proclaimed he could not see a thing. The eye chart transformed into a martian-like figure holding Spam and Pop Tarts (topical reference to that week's news reports of stranded cruise ship)

Merritt Ambrose performed Miser's Dream with a significant twist. He produced multiple ice cubes, dropping them into a champagne bucket; and concluded with a surprise production of a bottle of Wild Turkey. Ken Scott amused the audience with a series of "turkey" magic tricks from the dollar store, then had us all laughing with a silly balloon routine that concluded with him mentally causing a balloon to pop.

For General Magic, Christophe Fouquet presented a fun card routine where the participant had the option to either tell the truth or lie. Ben Goldfein magically discovered two chosen cards, one flew out of the deck and the other transformed from a seemingly incorrect revelation into an accurate match of the chosen card. Merritt Ambrose caused four coins to vanish from a covered glass and reappear on the table. After Joe Turner had multiple audience members shuffle their own four of a kind and place random choices into their pockets, he knew the location of each suit. Dan Garrett, as Garnack, mentally ascertained the answers to French-themed questions sealed in envelopes. Keith Rainey entertained us with an impressive mindreading card routine where multiple piles were dealt until a single card that matched the spectator's choice remained.

Winner of the Coveted Royal Blue Pen Award for November was Ken Scott.
