Our October meeting was the setting for our highly anticipated Magic Auction. Our annual auction is always an exciting fun-filled night of magic, camaraderie, and bargains. We began with our Flea Market where members set up tables to sell smaller items at lower cost before the auction.

A very short business meeting was conducted to nominate officers for next year, as well as nominate worthy candidates for Magician of the Year. Then after a quick break and perusal of the auction items, we were on to the evening's main attraction. Our auction was once again in the very capable hands of auctioneer JACK CORCORAN who always keeps the evening running smoothly and efficiently. With a good dose of humor and encouragement for folks to increase their bids, Jack kept the auction moving at a swift pace.

The typical assortment of props for sale included close-up magic, lots of mentalism, books, DVDs, stage magic, assorted props, and a tremendous amount of children's show magic. Many people got great bargains, and of course there were the expected moments of fast-pace bidding (and friendly rivalry) for a few very popular items that elicited great interest. Some of the more interesting props for sale that resulted in the most frenzied bidding were the creations of Wolf Magic. Many members walked away with a smile on their face and new colorful additions to their repertoire. We all enjoyed a fun evening, some members walked out with a pocket full of money, others with arms full of their new acquisitions, and the club raised some funds.

If you are lucky enough to be in Atlanta on the third Monday of any month, we encourage you to join us for an enjoyable evening of conversation, theme and general magic, a mini-lecture by one of our members, and the opportunity to make some new friends!
